How it works

How does a Venturi pneumatic conveyor work?

A Venturi conveyor turns compressed air into powerful suction, with no motor and no moving parts. Simply connect it to your air supply and to a conveying hose.

  1. 1
    Compressed air injection

Air enters through the side port and fills an annular chamber around the central bore.

  2. 2
    Venturi effect

Air is accelerated through nozzles pointing towards the outlet, creating strong vacuum at the inlet.

  3. 3
    Material suction

Powders, granules, chips or small parts are drawn in through the inlet hose.

  4. 4
    Conveying and discharge

The air stream carries the material to the discharge point, with no risk of clogging.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a Venturi pneumatic conveyor?

It is a conveying vacuum pump that uses compressed air and the Venturi effect to draw in and convey materials (powders, granules, chips, small parts) through a hose, with no motor and no moving parts.

What is the difference between the VTRF and VTRA ranges?

VTRF conveyors deliver very high flow with a straight-through bore up to Ø 38 mm (up to 5,610 NL/min). VTRA conveyors reach a higher vacuum (up to −84 kPa) and feature a manual flow-adjusting ring.

What material are the conveyors made of?

The body is made of anodised aluminium: light, sturdy and corrosion-resistant, it suits the vast majority of industrial uses. For highly abrasive or corrosive materials, please contact us to discuss your application.

What are the delivery times?

All our conveyors are made to order: allow 1 to 2 weeks maximum between receipt of payment and dispatch, then 1 to 3 days within France and 3 to 7 days within Europe.

What air pressure is required?

VTRF conveyors run between 4 and 6 bar (7 bar max.), VTRA conveyors at 5.5 bar. Air must be dry and filtered for optimum performance.

How do I choose the right model?

The choice depends on the material (size, density, abrasiveness), the required flow, the conveying distance and height. Describe your project using our quote form and we will reply quickly with a recommendation.

Are prices shown excluding or including VAT?

Prices are shown excluding VAT and exclusive of shipping: a flat fee per order based on the delivery country (€35 excl. VAT for France), shown before payment. French VAT (20%) applies to deliveries in France; EU businesses with a valid VAT number benefit from the reverse-charge mechanism, and deliveries outside the EU are VAT-exempt.

Pneumatic conveying using the Venturi effect

A Venturi pneumatic conveyor — also called a conveying vacuum pump, air amplifier conveyor, ejector or eductor — is the simplest way to transfer bulk materials from one point to another. Powered by your plant’s compressed air, it generates vacuum that draws the material in and propels it through a flexible or rigid hose.

Unlike mechanical conveyors (screws, belts, turbine vacuum units), it has no moving parts: no wear, no lubrication, no risk of jamming. Its compact size makes it easy to fit onto an existing machine, hopper or machining station.

Our VTRF and VTRA ranges cover bores from Ø 6.5 to 38 mm, flows from 280 to 5,610 NL/min and vacuum levels down to −84 kPa, in anodised aluminium.
